Getting Started

OrderBuddy is a free Discord bot that lets you manage orders directly inside your Discord server. Your community can place, track, and manage orders using simple slash commands or through the web dashboard — no external tools needed.

Click the "Add to Discord" button on our homepage, select your server from the dropdown, and authorize the required permissions. OrderBuddy will be added to your server instantly and ready to use.

Yes! OrderBuddy is completely free to use with all core features included. There are no hidden fees, no premium tiers, and no credit card required.

OrderBuddy needs permissions to read and send messages, manage channels (for creating order channels), embed links, attach files, and manage roles. These are requested during the invite process and are necessary for full functionality.

Visit our website and click "Log in" to authenticate with your Discord account. Once logged in, you'll see all servers where you have admin access and OrderBuddy is installed. From there you can manage orders, settings, and more.

Orders

You can create an order using the /createorder slash command in Discord, or through the web dashboard by navigating to Orders and clicking "New Order". Both methods allow you to specify order details, assign staff, and set deadlines.

Yes! If you enable the order creation module, any member with the appropriate permissions can submit orders through Discord. Staff members will be notified automatically when a new order is placed.

Orders move through statuses like Pending, In Progress, Completed, and Cancelled. Staff can update the status from Discord or the dashboard, and the customer is notified of every change in real time.

Configuration

Go to the Dashboard, select your server, then navigate to Settings. Under "Staff Role", pick the Discord role that identifies your team members. Anyone with this role will be able to manage and fulfill orders.

Order categories are Discord channel categories where order-specific channels are created. When a new order is placed, OrderBuddy automatically creates a channel inside this category for communication about that order.

Head to Dashboard > Messages for your server. You can customize every message the bot sends, including order confirmations, status updates, and notifications. The embed editor supports variables like {orderId}, {customer}, and {status}.

Troubleshooting

First, make sure OrderBuddy is online in your server's member list. Check that the bot has the correct permissions in the channel you're using. If the bot appears offline, it may be undergoing maintenance — check our Discord server for status updates.

Ensure you're viewing the correct server in the dashboard. Orders are server-specific, so switch to the right server using the server selector. If the issue persists, try refreshing the page or logging out and back in.

Make sure you're logging in with the same Discord account that has admin permissions on the server. You need either Administrator permission or the Manage Server permission on the Discord server to access its dashboard.
